RAÍCES DEL MIÑO

The Raíces del Miño village wines pay homage to the community work of family “minifundios” (smallholdings) which are helping Galicia’s ancient wine-making tradition shine once again. The sparsely populated towns, the small rock soil villages surrounded by vineyards, the terraced views facing the winding Miño river, and the valleys defined by the Avia and the Arnoia rivers in the Ribeiro region, all contribute to making wines of exceptional quality.

The first wines of this project are two whites of regional varieties which are produced in limited batches, but there are plans for the near future to produce other wines from the Ribeiro and Ribeira Sacra.

2017-2018

Raíces del Miño Treixadura, D.O. Ribeiro.

This wine represents the iconic white variety of the Ribeiro. It is the queen of vineyards, distinguished and harmonious, and sensitive to altitude, which is why it is mainly grown on hillsides with good orientation. With a pale yellow color and green hues, this wine has a deep nose with notes of fresh flowers, green apple, pears, apricot, and freshly-ground white pepper. The mouthfeel is light with a tense acidity that defines a rich freshness, while displaying a flavorful fruity taste. Medium to long lasting finish with a fresh fruit aftertaste.
