Vineyards & Winery

Castrelo Das Pedras 1836 takes part in community work within the almost 67 acres (27 hectares) of old vineyards in the village, and has 97,000 sq. ft. (9,000 sq. meters) of their own vines with a traditional 1970s trellis system located in As Bouzas, Castrelo de Miño, under the D.O Ribeiro, approximately 200 to 350 m.a.s.l., which produces the white wines for aging.

The vines from which these wines come are harvested in the typical Galician terrain, planted in mineral-rich soils amidst sloping hillsides and terraces, all of which are worked in the artisanal way.

The traditional 1836 stone house at the heart of As Bouzas is being restored, and it will become the winery for aging and storing the wines of this enterprise.

The current equipment includes 4 Italian cocciopesto eggs of cooked cement from Marema (Tuscany), one which is 264 gallons (1,000 liters), another which holds 449 gallons (1,700 liters), and two with a capacity of 792 gallons (3,000 liters) each.
